MedHab’s team is comprised of business and health professionals with expertise in various disciplines, and was was identified and selected to fit the specific needs addressing the medical device market. We have representation from orthopedic surgery, family practice, physical therapy, managed health care, academics, not for profit, and workers compensation.

More About Jay Morris

Jay Morris, MD
Dr. Morris is Vice President and Regional Chief Medical Officer for Humana’s Senior Products in the Texas Region.  Before joining Humana, he served as Senior Medical Director for Clinical Strategy with OptumHealth, a United Health Group Company.

Dr. Morris has over thirty years of clinical practice and healthcare administrative experience in the Houston and Southeast Texas areas.  Other notable positions prior to joining Humana include; serving as Chief Medical Officer for United Heathcare’s South Texas health plan, serving as Chief of Emergency Services and Medical Director of the Emergency Department at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, and as Chairman of the Department of Urgent Care for Kelsey–Seybold Clinic.

Dr. Morris earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, his law degree from the South Texas College of Law, and a master’s degree in business administration from Rice University’s Jones School of Graduate Management.  He is a Certified Physician Executive and is Board Certified in Family Medicine.

More About John Early

John S. Early, MD is a board certified Orthopedic surgeon in the Dallas / Fort Worth area specializing in foot and ankle reconstruction and rehabilitation.  He is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and received his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering at Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey in 1981. Upon graduation, he worked as an area engineer for the DuPont chemical company in Victoria, Texas.  In 1983 Dr. Early switched his engineering emphasis to the human body and began his medical education at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.  After obtaining his doctorate of medicine in 1987, he spent his surgical intern year at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Returning to Dallas the following year, Dr. Early entered the orthopedic residency program at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where he began his deep interest in foot and ankle care.  Upon completion of his residency training, he traveled to Seattle, Washington for a one year fellowship in foot and ankle orthopedics at the University of Washington, Harborview Medical Center.

With the completion of his medical training, Dr. Early returned to Dallas to accept a full time faculty position in the Department of Orthopedics at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where he established the division of foot and ankle reconstruction for Parkland Hospital and the Zale Lipshy University Hospital.  During his tenure there he served as Vice Chairman of Orthopedics at St. Paul University Hospital, medical director of the Aston Bone and Joint Clinic and held the R. Wofford Cain Distinguished chair in Bone and Joint Disease Research.  In 2004, Dr. Early left the University with the title of Clinical Professor of Orthopedics and is presently in private practice where he continued his focus on foot and ankle care.

As an educator, Dr. Early has for 15 years served as an instructor for the Baylor University North Texas Foot and Ankle Fellowship training orthopedic surgeons to be foot and ankle specialists.  During his career Dr. Early has been a highly respected author and lecturer both nationally and internationally on the subject of reconstruction and rehabilitation of traumatic and athletic foot and ankle injuries.  He has served as a peer reviewer for highly respected orthopedic publications such as Foot and Ankle International, Journal of Orthopedic Trauma, Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopedics.  He served as president of the Texas Orthopedic Association in 2009 and as board member and eventual Chairman of the board of managers for the Texas Institute for Surgery at Texas Health Dallas through 2011.  Early on in the formation of this company and its technology, Dr. Early developed a profound interest in both the scientific and therapeutic value that MedHab and its products will bring to foot and ankle care of his patients. He has served as our medical director since 2011.
